WIFE'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AT SENECA ALLEGANY CASINO TURNS INTO BIG PAYOFF FOR VERSAILLES RETIREE

SALAMANCA, NEW YORK - What started out as a celebratory trip to Seneca Allegany Casino for his wife's birthday turned into a big reason for Allen Johnson to celebrate.

The Versailles, New York resident hit a Wheel of Fortune® quarters MegaJackpot® worth $185,395 at the casino on Monday evening. The prize was the fifth MegaJackpot® to be paid at Seneca Allegany Casino this year.

"Something told me I was going to win a jackpot," Johnson said, noting that he had a good feeling heading into the casino on Monday.

He was drawn to the winning machine because his wife was sitting at the next slot machine over. As for plans for his winnings, Johnson was not completely sure, but did say that he was planning to buy a new race car next year.

Gus Tsivikis, general manager at Seneca Allegany Casino, said that events like a patron winning a large jackpot add to the growing excitement at Seneca Allegany Casino, which is preparing to open its new, expanded gaming floor later this year.

"Every day gets more exciting for us and our patrons as we get ready to open our new, world-class facility," he said. "The new facility will open the doors to a completely enhanced experience for our patrons, and for our employees as well."

The new gaming floor at Seneca Allegany Casino will offer 64,000 square feet of world-class gaming space, featuring more than 2,100 slot machines and 40 table games. Scheduled to open in December, the new facility will shift the entire gaming operation from the current Seneca Allegany Casino facility into the first floor of what will be the new Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel.

The last MegaJackpot® awarded at Seneca Allegany Casino occurred on July 28th, when a Pennsylvania man won a $169,580 Wheel of Fortune® quarters MegaJackpot®. Just weeks prior to that, on June 5th, the casino paid a $101,819 Elvis® quarters progressive. Less than two months earlier, on April 11th, the Seneca Allegany awarded an impressive a $1,130,821 Jeopardy!® Video Slots Tournament of Champions nickel progressive.
