HOTEL PROJECT TAKING SHAPE AT SENECA ALLEGANY CASINO

New facility scheduled to open in October

SALAMANCA, NEW YORK - The Seneca Nation of Indians and Seneca Allegany Casino reached into the past to start building for the future this morning.

A group of retired Seneca ironworkers set the first piece of steel in place for the new Seneca Allegany Casino and Hotel - a project that is expected to create 450 new jobs at the Seneca Nation's Class III gaming facility in Salamanca.

"It is very fitting that these Seneca ironworkers, who toiled for many years on many projects, are here to start this wonderful project that will benefit the future of our Nation," Treasurer John said. "This new hotel will be a wonderful addition to our jewel in the hills of Salamanca."

Scheduled for a partial opening in October 2006, the new Seneca Allegany Casino and Hotel will feature a combination of luxury accommodations, world-class gaming excitement and an array of dining options. Officials from the Seneca Nation and Seneca Gaming Corporation officially broke ground for the hotel on October 29, 2005.

The project will signify the switch of the Seneca Allegany Casino gaming floor from the current site, which was established as a temporary casino, into the new hotel. The new Seneca Allegany Casino and Hotel will boast 64,500 square feet of gaming, including more than 2,100 slot machines and more than 40 table games. Future plans for the current casino space include a large-scale event center.

Also included in the hotel's plans are a new steakhouse, an Italian restaurant and a 24-hour caf, all of which will complement the popular Thunder Mountain Buffet.

Seneca Allegany Casino opened its doors on May 1, 2004 and continues to grow in popularity. In 2005, more than 3.3 million visitors passed through the casino's front door.

The 11-story tall casino and hotel will be the tallest structure in the City of Salamanca. The project will also mark the investment of approximately $140 million into the region by the Seneca Nation of Indians, in addition to the $118 million that was invested to establish the existing casino and parking facility.

In addition to bringing the total employment at Seneca Allegany casino to more than 1,300, Seneca Gaming Corporation officials noted that the hotel project will also put hundreds of skilled union construction laborers on the job.

"We believe that this investment will pay dividends not only for the Seneca Nation, but for the surrounding area of Salamanca as well," Brian Hansberry, Chief Operating Officer, Seneca Allegany Casino, said. "Millions of people visit Seneca Allegany Casino each year to experience excitement in a world class, atmosphere. Our new hotel will enhance that experience and invite many more people to Western New York's Southern Tier."
