CHRISTMAS TREES STRIPPED OF DECORATIONS
Niagara Falls, NY, December 2004 - The Christmas trees at Seneca Niagara Casino and Seneca Allegany Casino went up adorned with beautiful ornaments. In less than 48 hours, the 150 ornaments at Seneca Niagara Casino and 50 at Seneca Allegany Casino disappeared. Employees were upset.
Each ornament had the name and age of an underprivileged child from the Seneca Cattaraugus and Allegany Indian Reservation Territories. Enthusiastic employees quickly took the ornaments in order to buy gifts for the children. Because there was such an overwhelming response, employees have decided to redecorate the tree with hats, scarves and mittens that will also be given to the children.
Information about each child was provided by the Seneca Nation of Indians Child and Family Services. Recipients are ages birth to 20. As employees bring in the gifts, they are being placed in oversized toy boxes in the Employee Dining Rooms.
Seneca Niagara Casino and Seneca Allegany Casino are owned and operated by the Seneca Nation of Indians.
